Problem – Connection problem from Windows 8, 8.1 or RDP8 on Windows 7
You may find the problems logging onto the Hosted Application Connector with Windows 8, 8.1 or Windows 7 after you install the RDP 8.0 update which is Microsoft kb2592687.
We have been unable to find the root cause but this only seems to affect some systems and seems to be related to the udp connectivity available in rdp8 that is not compatible with our service.
UDP connectivity in this version of the rdp (remote desktop protocol) can be disabled by adding the following registry key…
- reg add “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\Client” /v “fClientDisableUDP” /d 1 /t REG_DWORD
Execute the command from an elevated command prompt or alternatively you could deliver this registry key to all machines in your domain using a group policy preference.
