SLG – Mandating a Security Question and Answer

SIMS Learning Gateway – Mandating a Security Question and Answer

New functionality has been added to SLG to allow schools to mandate that users complete the Security Question and Answer.  Once a user has completed their security question and answer they are able to reset their own password through the password reset portal.

You can choose to enable or disable this functionality for Parents, Students or Teachers.

Once enabled if a user logs in who has not completed their question they will see the following prompt each time they login until the question is set:

Important

Before enabling the system you need to be aware that this functionality relies on the quality of the data in SIMS, i.e if you have no email addresses associated with Parents there would be no point in enabling this functionality.

Schools can now use the data collection sheet functionality in SLG to maintain this data – see http://faq.scomis.org/kb7863 for more information.
