Bromcom – Track Group End Date – what does it mean?

In Bromcom, Track Group End Date tells the system whether a student’s membership in a group (such as a class, club, or tutor group) should automatically expire on the group’s predefined end date.

For Tutor Groups, leaving the Track Group End Date box ticked is the standard best practice. It ensures that the student’s time in that registration group perfectly aligns with the global start and end dates of the academic year.

You should only untick this box if you are making an exception for a specific student’s enrolment timeline.

Standard Setup vs. Exceptions

  • Keep Ticked (Standard): The student will automatically remain in the tutor group until the final day of the academic year. When the school year closes, their membership automatically ends, allowing for clean rollover or promotion.
  • Untick (Exceptions): You must untick the box to manually type an custom End Date. This is necessary if a student is permanently moving to a different registration group mid-term or leaving the school entirely.
