What’s new on Bromcom MIS

IMPORTANT: The new alert configuration options may have cleared any staff previously listed. Please reconfigure the settings to ensure alerts are sent as intended. Administrators can now assign safeguarding alerts to specific roles (as well as individual members of staff), ensuring that the right roles in the school are notified of incidents relevant to their responsibilities. A new optional Refer to Role(s) field has been added, allowing users to select Deputy Head of Year and/or Head of Year to receive the alert. When a role is selected, all staff members assigned to that role will receive the alert. Please note, this field is not selected by default. |

A new “Last X Academic Days” option has been added to the Interval dropdown in Advanced Mode when adding Attendance Summary, Behaviour Summary, or Other Summary columns within Quick Reports. This enhancement allows users to define a custom number of academic days for reporting, providing greater flexibility in data selection. |

Several updates have been made to the Staff table in the Project wizard to improve accuracy in representing the workload of part-time and full-time staff, as well as to prepare for an upcoming release focused on part-time staff. |

MCAS – Online Payments: Account Limit per Student (Web & App) |

This update addresses an issue where Account Limits were being applied per parent account, rather than per student. With this change, Account Limits will now be correctly attached to students, ensuring that the purchase limit is enforced per student rather than per parent. |
wTimetable – Scheduling: New Limitations rule in Timetable Specifications |

A new Limitations tab has been introduced to the Timetable Specifications popup, allowing users to define and apply maximum limits on how many times a subject (or subjects) can be scheduled within the same teaching period and is applicable to all year groups. Clicking Add New Row, users must complete the following fields to create a rule:

MCAS – Parent App: Drill down to Detention Details from My Child screen |

This update introduces a new feature allowing parents to quickly access the Detention Details screen from the Calendar screen. By simply clicking on a Detention event, parents will be directly taken to the Detention Details screen for more information. |

The Attendance Summary, Behaviour Summary, and Other Summary interval options in Quick Reports have been extended to support up to 50 academic days, providing users with a broader timeframe for data analysis. |

To improve the user experience and reduce errors, Bromcom have made enhancements to the subject deletion process. Users will now receive a notification if they try to delete a subject that is in use elsewhere in the system (such as Timetable, Assessment Marksheets, Seating Plan). |

MCAS – Parent App: Detentions hidden for configured year groups |

Detentions has recently been introduced to the MCAS Parent App in the following My Child screens: Calendar, Timetable, and Detentions. With this update, detentions that are hidden from year groups within the MCAS web will now also remain hidden in the MCAS Parent App. |

Assessment – Enhancement to Tooltip for Marksheet Comment selection |

To improve the comment selection process within Marksheets, Bromcom have updated the tooltip in the Comment Entry popup to display a preview of both System and Personal comments including tags, enabling users to quickly preview and select the appropriate comment. |
Analysis – EYFS GLD Analysis: New GLD On Track summary totals |

Bromcom have enhanced the EYFS GLD Analysis report to include summary totals for the GLD On Track column. This update allows users to view both the number and percentage of students who are on track and those who are not, without the need to manually recalculate these totals. |
