How to Check Simple File Sharing is Disabled in Windows

  1. Open Control Panel (Windows 10 type Control Panel in the Search Box and open – Windows 7 Click the Start button and Select Control Panel).
  2. Select ‘View by Large Icons’.
  3. Windows 10 open “File Explorer Options” – Windows 7 Open “Folder Options”.
  4. Select the View tab and uncheck “Use Sharing Wizard (Recommended)”.
  5. Click OK to save the changes.
