Adding SWGfL Proxy Settings to mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Android)

Add SWGfL proxy server settings to my iPad or iPhone

1. Navigate to the ‘Settings’ app and tap on ‘WiFi’

2. Next, tap on the WiFi network you need to add the proxy to. This should be one you are currently connected to.

3. This next page will display all of your network information, for the network you are connected to.

Scroll down to the ‘HTTP Proxy’ settings and tap ‘Manual’.

4. A new box will appear below the setting.

Fill in the Proxy Server address with – proxy.swgfl.org.uk

Fill in the Port with – 8080

Note: Some sites/users may need to use a different proxy e.g.  staffproxy.swgfl.org.uk if in doubt they will need to check with their network manager.

5. Once complete, exit the ‘Settings’ App and you should be able to connect to web pages on the school network.

 

Add proxy server setting to my Android phone or tablet

1. Open the Applications tab and tap Settings.

2. Tap Wireless & networks.

3. Tap WiFi settings.

4. In the list of available networks, tap and hold the network to which you are connected, until a menu shows.

5. Tap Modify Network.

6. Tap Proxy Settings, and then Manual.

Fill in the Proxy Server address with – proxy.swgfl.org.uk

Fill in the Port with – 8080

Note: Some sites/users may need to use a different proxy e.g.  staffproxy.swgfl.org.uk if in doubt they will need to check with their network manager.

7. Tap Save.
