How does SLASC calculate staff totals

When it comes to the differences in the count, Personnel actually mainly considers staff Employment Date, which is different to the Contract Dates.  For a teacher to show in the Personnel browse they must have the ‘Teaching Staff’ option ticked in their staff record and their Employment Date must be on or before the current system date.

The count in the SLASC looks at teachers who have ‘Teaching Staff’ ticked and have a contract that is active on the census date (so, the census date is between the contract start and end dates), as well as some additional conditions like the service term post category code should be ‘QT’, ‘ET’ or ‘LT’. There are several scenarios where this might not match, eg there might be staff with an employment date after the census date or some without contracts.
