SIMS – National Insurance Rates 2022/23

Capita have now issued a PDF file with the latest National Insurance Rates for 2022/23.

There is now a Capita patch available, number 26960, which will insert the National Insurance table 2022-23 on your behalf. If you have already created the table for 2022-23, the patch will overwrite the existing table. The patch adds an end date into the 21/22 NI rates.

Or you can add the figures manually.  If you choose to add manually you will need to enter them within SIMS before the end of April 2022, so that salaries are calculated correctly in FMS for 2022/23.

Please download the file from the link below and ensure that you can either view the figures on a second screen, or print the file for ease of input.

National Insurance Table 2022-2023 Nov Update

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT IF YOU INPUT AN INCORRECT NUMBER OF BANDS AND SAVE YOUR INPUT BEFORE REALISING THE MISTAKE, YOU CANNOT DELETE THE ENTRY FOR 2021 BUT WOULD NEED TO ROLLBACK TO THE LATEST BACKUP. THEREFORE, PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE A SUCCESSFUL BACKUP FILE BEFORE SAVING YOUR INPUT DATA.

Within SIMS select Tools – Staff – National Insurance Rates and click on Search. This is to check that an entry for 01/04/2022 does not already exist.  If it does not, then click on New to start the input.

Within the ‘Add New National Insurance Rate window, enter the start date and the number of bands for the 2021/22 figures as stated within the PDF. Highlight Band 1 within Panel 2 and enter the figures for Band 1 within Panel 3.  You only need to enter the Upper Monthly Earning, the Contracted In Rate 1 and the Contracted Out Rate 2 as the lower column will self-populate.  NB: If you need to enter a minus figure, please be aware that it will show the at the right of the figure, instead of the left, until you highlight another band, when it will then display correctly.

Repeat these steps to complete details for the remaining Bands.

Double-check your start date and your figures.  When you are happy that they are all correct, then click on Save to effect your changes.  If necessary, you can edit the amounts within these bands after saving but as mentioned above, you cannot change the number of bands once saved.

If you have any issues or problems with this process, then please call the Service Desk on 01392 385300 and we will be happy to talk through the process with you.
