Year 11 Leavers – DfE Advice

The official school leaving date is the last Friday in June in the school year in which a student reaches age 16.

Where a Year 11 student has applied and been accepted into the school 6th form, they must remain on roll until the end of term. Code X can be used for the period after the last Friday in June to the end of term.

Where a Year 11 student has not applied or has not been accepted into the school 6th form, they must remain on roll until the last Friday in June. If the school decides to give leave of absence after the students complete their examinations, Code C can be used to record the authorised absence.
