Open all the allowances, posts and scales and look for a blank or red field, fill in the required information and then try to save again.

This is usually due to conflicting information in a contract.
Check the closed contracts, they probably have an open scale record …………
If you backdate a contract it will affect FMS. If you have reconciled against the old contract the advice is to not backdate unless you are happy to change FMS as well.
