Dinner Money and UIFSM Enhancements

From the SIMS 2014 Autumn release, Dinner Money will identify pupils who belong to National Curriculum Year R, 1 or 2 and automatically charge them £0.00. Where a pupil belongs to National Curriculum Year X, Dinner Money will use the age as at 31/08 to calculate if they are eligible for a universal infant free school meal.
The upgrade will automatically revise all charges from 1 September 2014 to be accurate as of the calculations above. As a result, you may find that your records of UIFSM meals and outstanding balances before running the upgrade may differ after the upgrade.
As this new functionality involves charging pupils correctly based on their National Curriculum Year membership at the point of processing the meal, schools are no longer required to clone their meal definitions to include a paid meal definition and a UIFSM definition.
To differentiate between universal infant free school meals and other meals, an additional column named U (for universal infant free school meals) has been added to the Catering Return, Dinner Numbers by Week and Yearly Statistics reports.
