Encryption: Installation onto HP Powerbook S-Series Laptops

Read this FAQ before installing the Scomis Encryption Service Software onto any HP Powerbook S-series laptops.

We have had problems with the software conflicting with the pre-installed HP tools for data security on this range of laptops.  To make the installation work the following HP tools need to be removed from the laptop via Add/Remove programs before installing the Scomis Encryption Software:

  • Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools
  • Theft Recovery for HP ProtectTools
  • Privacy Manager for HP ProtectTools
  • File Sanitizer for HP ProtectTools
  • Face Recognition for HP ProtectTools
  • HP ProtectTools Device Access Manager
  • HP ProtectTools Security Manager
