Can I delete old CTF Files?

When CTF files are exported, an XML export file is created and stored in the CTF Export Directory that was specified when you configured the CTF defaults (via Tools | Setups | CTF). Each XML file will have an individual file name when viewed through Windows® Explorer. The first seven digits of the file name [...]

Tools/Setups/CTF click on the Alternative Destinations…

Remove all ticks except the ones in Student Addresses, Assessment…

In the students’ options area enter a tick against “include students already exported” and…

This can happen if the information you have entered into SIMS .net does not match exactly what is on the CTF.  SIMS .net matches 5 pieces of information: forename, surname, date of birth, UPN and gender.  If any of this information differs, SIMS .net will think that the student on the CTF is a new student.  [...]

The Export Log will show if SIMS .net has exported the CTF successfully. The key is to look at the Number of Students in File and compare this to the Number of Students Processed. If these match then the export has been successful and the CTF is ready to be uploaded. If SIMS .net has [...]

When creating the CTF for an alternative destination already created, choose the option from the ‘Destination LA/Other’ drop down list and not the ‘Destination School’ drop down list.

If you do not know the destination of a Leaver you will need to send the CTF to an alternative destination called unknown destination. Go to: Tools/setups/CTF and click on the ‘Alternative Destinations’ hyperlink. Click ‘New’. Type: ‘XXXXXXX’ as the code and ‘Unknown Destination’ for the description. Exit SIMS .net and log back in again.

If the CTF is being sent to one of the above you will need to set up an alternative destination. Go to: Tools/Setups/CTF and click on the ‘Alternative Destinations’ hyperlink. Click ‘New’. Type: ‘MMMMMMM’ as the code and ‘Outside Maintained Sector’ for the description. Exit SIMS .net and log back in.

Having chosen the destination school from the drop down list do not select anything in ‘Destination LA’ as this will deselect the destination school already chosen.

Go to Tools/Other Schools and carry out a search on the school name. If the school is not there you will need to create a new record. If the school is there double click on the establishment and make sure there is a tick in the box next to ‘Destination’. You will need to exit [...]
